diconium launches new service offering "Trustworthy AI"

Stuttgart, December 12, 2023
diconium, partner for digital growth along the entire value chain and an independent subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, is now supporting companies in the development of trustworthy AI for business-critical and safety-relevant applications with its new "Trustworthy AI" service offering. The new offering focuses on targeted and future-proof preparation for key AI challenges such as the regulation adopted on December 8, 2023 as part of the European Union's AI Act, which imposes extensive testing and documentation obligations on companies for the use of AI in safety-critical applications. At the same time, "Trustworthy AI" allows companies to shorten costly and time-consuming certification processes by having diconium accompany them until the AI is certified by an independent testing body. Just recently, an AI application developed by diconium was awarded the Trusted AI seal of approval by TÜV Austria - the world's first machine learning certification scheme that confirms the robustness and security of the AI application. In addition, diconium has joined the German AI Association as a new member.

diconium empowering companies for future-proof and trustworthy AI integration

From the initial analysis to consulting and implementation through to possible certification: with the new "Trustworthy AI" service offering, companies benefit directly from diconium's many years of experience in the end-to-end development of data products and AI solutions for its customers. As a reliable partner and pioneer into the AI age, diconium pursues a holistic approach that includes business and legal aspects as well as technical aspects in the development.

David Blumenthal-Barby, Principal Specialist AI at diconium: „The economic potential of artificial intelligence is vast. Nevertheless, companies can harness it only when both their customers and they themselves trust the AI. Trust, in this context, involves unveiling the black box, comprehending the machine's decisions, and acknowledging its limitations.. The road to trustworthy AI is sometimes rocky and consumes a lot of resources. We make our technical expertise directly available to companies and, as a development partner and certification coach, offer them a faster process towards a certifiable AI application“

Swantje Kowarsch, Managing Director at diconium data: „Our Trustworthy AI service not only provides a deep understanding of AI systems, but also proactively prepares our customers for the regulations of the European Union's AI Act and thus for certification during development. By ensuring transparency, ethics and data protection in our AI initiatives, we not only demonstrate our commitment to responsible innovation, but also strengthen the trust of our customers and partners. This is particularly essential in sensitive industries such as healthcare, financial services and automotive, where trust and security are paramount."

In cooperation with companies from the Volkswagen Group, diconium has already developed numerous certified development processes for AI-based assistance systems in vehicles. This experience in the field of safety-critical AI is incorporated into the new service offering, as are the regulatory expertise relating to the EU's AI law, the know-how gained from active involvement in associations such as Bitkom and the German AI Association, as well as the company's own certification by TÜV Austria and the ISO 9001 standard for quality management systems.
