The aim of the project was to equip the client for all digital commerce activities. In addition, the impact of the digital commerce strategy on the client's organisation, processes and IT was to be identified. Our task was to develop a business and operating model for B2C and B2B and to support the design and development of the MCR shop platform.

The Challenge
Although the company sees retail as its core competence, it entered online retail later than its competitors. The challenge for diconium was to ensure that knowledge was built up as efficiently as possible while at the same time providing strategic and conceptual support for the market entry.

Our Solution
After conducting a thorough competitive analysis and developing a value chain across all relevant business areas, we strategically advised the client on their B2C business. In the next phase, we made the necessary adjustments for their B2B operations, leading to the creation of a unified platform for all e-commerce activities.
We carried out extensive benchmarks and competitive analyses, supported by a series of workshops and knowledge transfers, to enable the effective operation of their digital commerce business model. We also defined a sourcing strategy and carefully selected vendors, including a fulfillment service provider and a digital commerce platform.
We established strategic positioning and developed a detailed business model, supported by quantitative business case scenarios for market entry. Additionally, we defined the requirements for the operating model and outlined the multi-channel retailing processes. Finally, we selected the most suitable digital commerce platform and fulfillment service provider to ensure the client's success.
