The aim was to establish an online store that is as future-oriented and reliable as the manufacturer itself - with service-oriented features, smooth handling and customer-centric design. In other words, a sales-oriented platform with high performance and optimized IT infrastructure.
It is not a given that the Smart Shop looks like a single entity. The website, catalog, configurator and the actual store are based on different system architectures. The biggest challenges for diconium were therefore the establishment of a comprehensive design and a unique login for all areas (single sign-on). This required complex, partly agile coordination processes with the different service providers, which were initiated and coordinated by diconium's experts.
diconium supervised the project not only as developer, but is also responsible for usability & design as well as project management. The focus of the measures was the realization of the Smart Shop based on Intershop 7.8. Of high priority were a smooth session handling as well as the uniform design. diconium also implemented the "My Account" area and the checkout. For the manufacturer's internal user management, diconium also developed a customized user management tool.
